Mohammad Sawalha
Group CFO

With over 30 years of experience in the world of finance and as the Chief Finance Officer of Desert Gate, Mohammad and his team provide a stable foundation for running the company, giving the rest of us the comfort of knowing that the organisation’s finances are in good hands. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his family.

Nicholas Rhodes
Group CCO

In his expansive role, Nicholas uses his 25 years of experience in all aspects of the tourism industry to drive Desert Gate’s Commercial, IT and Excellence strategy. Additionally, he is responsible for our luxury Virtuoso segment. In his free time, he is an endless explorer, always on the lookout for new experiences and destinations.

Meriem Khelifi
Director Of Products & Marketing

As the Head of Experience, Product and Marketing departments, Meriem has over 10 years’ experience in the tourism industry and an excellent ability to translate guests’ requirements into superlative in-destination experiences, given her creative bent of mind. In her free time, she loves to travel, read, and learn about new cultures and languages.

Jamal Refaat
Managing Director - Oman

With over 25 years of experience in different aspects of the tourism business, Jamal’s expertise in the field coupled with relations that have been strengthened over the last two decades make him one of the most respected tourism professionals in the region today. In his free time, he likes to test his skills at playing football.

Evgeniya Sakharovskaya
Director of Business Development – CIS

As the Director of Business Development, Evgeniya leads the CIS Sales and Reservations Teams. She has 18 years experience in UAE, in both hotels as well as DMCs, with roles ranging from reservations to revenue, sales and operations. She became a part of the Desert Gate Family in 2017. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities.

Jawad Bhala
Director Of Contracting

Jawad began his professional journey from Saudi Arabia in 1994 before moving to Dubai in 1999 to work for some of the biggest names in the tourism industry. He was heading the contracting department in a well reputed organisation for 11 years before joining Desert Gate. In his free time, he loves watching sports.

Hayley Wall
Director of Sales - ROW

As Director of Sales for Rest of the World, Hayley has over 15 years’ experience in the tourism industry. Starting as a UK Tour Operator she eventually moved to the UAE in 2013 to continue her career in contracting, finally joining Desert Gate in 2018. In her free time she loves to travel, and socialise with friends.

Loic Mannoni
Golf Department Director

Loic has been in the golfing world since 1990, with over 6 years in the UAE in specialised Golf DMCs. Leading a team of golfing enthusiasts, he is an excellent player himself and maintains good relations with all the Golf Courses’ management in the UAE and Oman. In his free time, he plays golf and enjoys dining out with the family.

Abdul Ghori
Head of MICE & Leisure Groups

Abdul comes with an extensive knowledge in Leisure groups, Meetings, Incentives and Conferences, having worked with respected brands in the industry. His passion for organizing events is what kept him going for over 16 years. In his free time, he loves to network with multi cultural groups or just watch his favorite team play.

Olga Ogoulo
Director of Sales - CIS

Olga has been in the tourism sector for more than 23 years and has remarkable business development skills. Her eye for potential partnerships and ability to maintain superb relationship with the key partners is a truly admirable quality. In her free time, she loves to dive into literature, learn new skills, paint and travel.

Mohammad Kurdi
Director of Logistics

Mohammad handles our transport department, Managing all aspects of logistics from airport transfers to in-destination hotel transportation. He has over 21 years experience in the field and is well-respected for his ability to run smooth operations, and increasing customer satisfaction. In his free time, he loves to read.
